“I AM...”

In the Old Testament, God identified himself as “I AM THAT I AM”. Jesus also made  eight “I AM” statements expressing fundamental truths about himself. When we are  born again, we are changed, and our spirit is completely renewed. The scriptures tell us what happens to us at that point, and we too, can express our new identity in Christ in a series of ‘I am’ statements.

I am a new creation – a completely new species of being. 2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

I am a child of God. Romans 8.16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God.

I am a joint heir with Christ of God’s glory and power. Romans 8:17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.

I am exactly like Jesus in my spirit. 1John 4:17 Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.

I am God’s workmanship – created to do the good works God has prepared for me. Ephesians 2:10 (ASV) For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God afore prepared that we should walk in them.

I am an overcomer. Revelation 12:11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.

I am more than a conqueror. Romans 8:37 Nay in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.

I am an ambassador for Christ. 2 Corinthians 5:20 Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye  reconciled to God.

I am a good soldier of Christ. 2 Timothy 2:3 Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.

I am the righteousness of God. 2 Corinthians 5.21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

I am healed. 1 Peter 2:24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

I am prosperous in every area of my life. 3John 2 Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.

I am free from the law of sin and death. Romans 8:2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
